CONGRATULATIONS ON 3rd PLACE @ ALTOONA!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM and COACHES FOR THEIR 3rd PLACE FINISH AT THE ALTOONA TOURNAMENT, Feb 22-24th!!

Beloit started out the weekend Friday, Feb 22nd versus Everest on the right foot out shooting their opponent in the 1st period 9 to 3, with only 1 penalty (unfortunately a checking from behind) but it was Everest who scored first, on a power play stick poke with a bunch up in front of the net. Beloit played aggressive in the 2nd, maybe a little too hard in the referee’s eyes, tallying up 20 penalty minutes for the 2nd period. However amazingly they managed to get 2 unanswered goals within 9 seconds, for a little more fire and the lead. But then it was Everest coming back to tie it up half way through the 3rd, with Beloit in the box some more, the score remained tied until 1:36 left in the game when Everest had a 3 on 5 opportunity and took the win. Final score Beloit 2 – Everest 3, it was a hard 2-3 loss for the team. Total penalty tally, Beloit 46 minutes to Everest's single 2 minute penalty (just a little uneven and one more penalty minute than played in 3- 15 minute periods).

Saturday with a tough loss behind them & a little time on their hands some of the boys managed to take a trip to Action City for some fun; Lazer Tag, Mini Bowling, Go-Kart Riding, Arcade game playing, etc. Check out our photo albumn for some great pictures. A few parents even got a chance to take in a tour of the famous Chippewa Falls Brewery, LEINIE’S, thanks for setting that up, Therese. Also a big “THANKS” to Walt for setting up the room for the boys to hangout, eat pizza and watch movies before their Saturday night game, it must have been the ticket.

Saturday’s 7:00pm match up against Kenosha faired well for the Blades as they took a commanding 3-0 lead from the start. Beloit continued on the path to a win by adding 2 goals to Kenosha’s 1 in the 2nd period. In the 3rd they were determined and Beloit punched in 3 more to Kenosha’s 1 to get to the 3rd/4th place match up game on Sunday. Final score Beloit 8 – Kenosha 2: Penalties were more even this game, Beloit 22 and Kenosha 20.

Sunday Beloit Bantam A Team played for the Consolation at 3:00pm against Tomah in a game that started out as a nail biter in the 1st with 5 saves for each side, but Beloit coming out on top with a score of 1-0 to end the 1st period. The Blades proved in the 2nd that they came to play and wanted to win, out shooting their opponent, 20 to 7 and adding 4 more goals to Tomah’s 1 to end the 2nd period. In the 3rd period they added 1 more goal to solidify the 3rd place finish. Final score Beloit 6 – Tomah 1. The trophey was a long season coming but with improvement at every tournament this year, it is well deserved, CONGRATS GUYS, THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORT, THE FUN AND THE MEMORIES!!!

Also, congrats to the Bantam B Team on their 1st place finish!
